The book is well received and
The book is well received and looks great, I shall have some good reading time during Christmas.
Just a suggestion, in future volumes is it possible to have other book binding so photos spreading two pages can be folded flat, without the converging spine portion.
2-page lay flat
Roy, I agree that a binding which opens more flat will make it easier to enjoy the two-page photos. I'll talk to the print broker about that before future printing.
Thanks for the feedback, David
Old HK photos Vol 1
A fascinating read. It's amazing how much information can be dug out of an old photograph with effort and knowledge; looking forward to Volume 2.
crashed trams
Hi David,
It’s an informative book, I admire your pictorial way talking old HK stories like a detective!
Referring the crashed trams photo, I believe the canvas roof of the left tram was blown off, hit the open-top deck of the front tram and damaged its trolley pole (not conductor arm). That front tram and the right tram (broken window) should be the same type, i.e. open-top without roof. The frames (fences avoiding the passengers lean out) height are the same, whilst the frames of the left tram was doubled in height, supporting the canvas roof.

Book on old Hong Kong
I love the book, so concise so intriguing and well documented. The fact that it is small and can fit into my handbag is an added plus.
It is giving me so much pleasure. Will show it around to ex Hk people living in Uk and get them to buy it. Thank you
cheers Hannelore
