I knew the Wilkinson family in Stanley. Joyce had an elder brother called Fred: three younger sisters Joan, Maureen and Marjorie: and two younger brothers.
It's great to hear from somebody that spent time with my Grandmother during what must have been very tough times.
I noticed that in one of your diaries you mention that Joyce got engaged to John Wall. Turns out she married John as John was my Grandfather and his son, also John is my father. My Granfather was an Inspector in The Royal Hong Kong Police.
They moved to Australia in the 60s and lived the rest of their lives there.
Grandpa never spoke much of his time in Stanley camp, although he did tell me about when he stole a chicken from the Japanese Officers and got beaten brutally by the ends of their rifle buts. Luckily he survived that ordeal.
I had no idea Grandmas sister Joan lived in Garstang.
