Pre 1900 Number
Thanks
From reading the gazette the implication is that there were no pre 1900 numbers on Robinson Road, just names. Have you found any evidence (jurors lists etc) that Houses on Robinson were numbered prior to 1900?
re: Pre 1900 Number
Interesting - I haven't looked to see if there were any pre-1900 numbers before. I'll take a closer look when my files are restored.
Pre-1900 numbering
I took a look at a map of the area from 1897 (UK National Archive ref: MPHH 1/412), which shows the buildings were numbered, starting from Stonehenge at number 1. I think Strathallen was number 15 at that time, though the map just has a number without any building name.

From reading that article it…
From reading that article it looks like Li Po Chun actually owned the house (No 61 Robinson Road) next to Strathallen (57 Robinson Road) No 61 was a 4 house terraced building numbered 61, 63,65 & 67 Robinson Road, three of which were demolished to build the Yin Yee building and one to build Po Yue Yuk Building.
Here is an aerial from 30 Jan 1973 showing both Strathallen and to its right, No 61 Robinson Road before it was demolished to build the Po Yue Yuk Building.
