Found these images here. They were shot by an American soldier on leave during the Vietnam war in 1969, most likely between October to December 1969.
The subscript for this one in the blog is: "It must have been odd for my uncle who grew up on a farm with no fences to see school children behind barbed wire."

I think this is Victoria Junior School in Victoria Barracks as seen here. The bridge on the left is Cotton Tree Drive. Victoria Junior School was close to the Lower Peak Tram Station.

I went to this school between 1967 & 1970. It was very close to the peak tram station

I was at this school at the time it was taken. It's highly likely I was in the photo in the playground. Fond memories, we didn't even think about the barbed wire and I believe now it was there as it was part of the Victoria British army barracks
