My grandmother Annie Song had two sisters named Amy (married Samy) and Lily who never married. Annie and Amy are buried in Happy Valley while Lily was buried at the Polfulum Chinese Christian Cemetery. Lily was born in January 1880 and died in 1956. Her mother (My great grandmother) is buried next to Amy but I have no details of when she was born ( Northern China) or even her Christian name. It should be on her grave stone. What are the chances of finding out and how?

There's a chance her details are included in Patricia Lim's records,

If I look at her list of burials (http://gwulo.com/node/8738), I can see:

Samy Amy 1950-11-16 69 2739 12A--/11/22-

That puts her grave in section 12A of the cemetery. 

Patricia has also listed the inscriptions. The inscriptions for that section are at: http://gwulo.com/node/8740

But unfortunately I don't see any inscription nearby that mentions your great-grandmother.

You might need to pay a visit to see what is there - another good reason to come to Hong Kong again!

It would be well worth contacting the professional researcher, Christine Thomas, who, according to her website http://www.researchhongkong.org.uk  has details on 95-99% of the graves in the Protestant Cemetery in Happy Valley. Christine has photographed an enormous number of graves and has been very helpful to me in locating my relatives' graves. I've noticed that the rows of graves were often erected in chronological order, so that it's rare for relatives who died many years apart to be next to each other, even if they're in the same section, or adjacent sections. Might "next to" mean in an adjacent section, I wonder. I do hope you're successful in your search.

Thank you for your interest and suggestions. I am familiar with graves of my relations including my parents who were buried in Happy Valley.I am seeking information on Lily Song and her mother ( My great grandmother ) buried next to each other at the Chinese Christian Cemetery in Pokfulum. Is there an index of those who were buried in Polfulum? I would presume that great grandmother and her three daughters were buried in different cemeteries because of marital situations. My belief is that great grandfather dd not reach te shores of Hong Kong. I would be pleased to get any other clues that could be followed up.
