I think the photo is of Princess Alexandra's visit in 1961. The monogram of HRH (like interlocking As) as seen here appears on the middle banner under the crown on the HSBC building.

Yes, you could be right, but i'm sure I saw them in a set of pictures of Prince Phillip in 1959.
