1966-9-24 lingnan stadium opened with the spectator stands in this photo facing east over the sports field which is just opposite the train station. It still exists today. The stadium was the result of a donation from a Hong Kong real estate developer Edward Chan Tak-tai in memory of his father. He was also an alumnus of the Lingnan university in Canton which was renamed Sun Yat Sen University (中山大學) after 1949. One can see the Lingnan university mascot (mountain with river in front) on the left and Chung Chi College mascot on the right (I guess) above the structure at the center of the spectator stand.
