This is the first generation of buildings along MacDonnell Road. The nearest building left, was a large semi-detached house numbered 7&8. Around the corner, mainly hidden from view, were 3 identical buildings, nos 1&2, 3&4 and 5&6. The building lower middle right, at the junction of MacDonnell Road and Garden Road, was quarters for gardeners employed in the Botannical Gardens.
Visible higher up are the some of the original residences above Hornsey Road.
