School Quarter from 1878 to 1890 (where Fung Fu and his family lived) [????-????]

Submitted by lausanching on

No, 41 was separated from 35-39 by Un Fuk Ln. According to the Civil Establishment 1880 , page I36 , Fung Fu lived at School quarters, so no, 41 should be his quarter and 35-39 were classrooms, the actual Saiyingpun School at that time.

Yuen Ka Tseung achieved the Oxford Local Senior certificate at the age of 17.

While Lau Sz-fuk (劉四福) was a well-known best student of Fung Fu in Sai Ying Pun (English) in 1889, Fung Fu's own eldest son-in-law, Yuen Ka Tseung, remained largely unknown. The objective of this piece is to bring this history alive.

(This finding is original.)

Lau Sz-fuk completed Standard III under Fung Fu's direct instruction and  enter Victoria College in 1889.

Evaluation of Yuen Ying Fong's (阮英舫) Role at To Tsai Church

Submitted by lausanching on

In his December 2014 doctoral thesis, "Salvation from Above: The Christian Missions of the To Tsai Ui Tong, The Independent Church of Hong Kong, 1843-1926," submitted to the University of Hong Kong, Ip Sum Ming unknowingly touched upon a figure whose full significance he may not have recognized: Yuen Ying Fong.

Are Yuen Ying Fong (阮英舫) and Yuen Yik Chun (阮亦峻) the same person? (Fung Fu / Yuen Family Genealogy)

Introduction
I am researching a potential historical link between Mr. Fung Fu (馮扶, aka Fung But-sen 馮拔臣)—the first headmaster of Saiyingpun School (precursor to King's College, HK) in 1879—and the early Tongmenghui (Chinese Revolutionary Alliance) network in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya.
