The Peak Hotel

Can someone tell me the year when the Peak Hotel was destroyed by fire? Was it 1937 or 1938?

Also, was "Dunheved" on the Peak, the former building of the Peak Hotel? Was "Dunheved" originally built by N. J. Ede?

1. Ede bought a lot and built a house named Dunheaved on the Peak, where the Peak Hotel later stood.

2. In 1887 Mrs. Ede addresses are " 6 Seymour Terrace" and"Dunheaved, Victoria Gap" in the Ladies Directory of 1887.

2. The Edes then sold Dunheaved to Findlay-Smith who remodeled it into the first Peak Hotel.

3. The Edes build another house next door to the Peak Hotel on lot RBL 78, and named it Treverbyn.

3. By 1890, Mrs. Ede's addresses are listed as "Dunheaved" on Robinson Road. and Treverbyn, Victoria Gap.

What is your interest ?  Do you have a letter sent from Dunheaved you could share with us ?
