18 May 1943, Leo Landau's wartime diary

Submitted by montagne on

It was hell. Hot and the bugs! The cleaning has made no difference. Started to rain early this morning -- thank God! Now it's cool. Col. Price had a meeting with the Commandant, re the bugs question. Either the men sleep outdoors or all wooden beds are removed. Something must be done now and not tomorrow. As the men must have their sleep. This was the nature of his talk. We are now awaiting anxiously the outcome.
