The earliest mention I've found of him in Hong Kong is the 1925 Jurors List [1], which has him working as an Assistant at HK &Whampoa Dock Co Ld's Kowloon Docks. He appears in the Lists for 1926 and 1927 with the same details.
In 1927 he switched to work for the government, and stayed there until the war. The 1939 Blue Book [2] shows him working as a Sanitary Inspector in the Sanitary Department.
Wartime:
He fought with in HKVDC's 2nd Battery as Gunner 2953. [3]
After the British surrender he became a POW. He started out in North Point Camp [3], moved to Sham Shui Po Camp [4], then was shipped to Japan and the Hiroshima No. 5 POW Camp [4], also known as Hiroshima 5B - Innoshima [5].
