Dr. Stuart Harverson was a missionary who served with the CIM in Kunming, China, in the 1930s.
He married fellow missionary Sarah Kelly in December 1936, in Chuxion, Yunnan, China.
They resigned from the CIM in 1939, and later served with WEC in Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Taiwan. They had three sons, John, Peter and Godfrey.
In January 1949, he was in Hong Kong and was asked to take over the running of the Emmanuel Medical Mission and Church in Nathan Road, as the then incumbent, Dr Lechmere Clift, was unwell.
Dr Clift died in May of that year and Dr Harverson then took over the work as superintendent. He and Sarah were living at 17B Chatham Road, Kowloon.
For a short time they had fellow missionaries the Rutherford Spences living with them. John Rutherford Spence delivered the eulogy at Dr Clift's memorial service.
