In May 1940, Mrs D. R. Pengelly qualified as an Air Raid Warden. In June 1941, she was promoted to Deputy Group Warden.
She was likely residing at 93 Waterloo Road (address noted from a burglary case with culprit arrested by her husband in the Hong Kong Daily Press 22 May 1941).

Postcard from Sons to D. Pengelly
Seen a wartime postcard posted in Dunfermline, Scotland on 20 May 1944 from R. C. Pengelly but with sender's address in Plymouth, Devon, England to D. Pengelly in Stanley Internment Camp. It reads:
"Dear Mum, Dad,
Hope you are alright, I am getting on fine. Brian is alright and sends his love.
Do not worry about us, Mum.
Love, Reg."
(Likely, "Reg" was Reginald Charles Pengelly. In 1936, both Reg and Brian Pengelly attended Kowloon Junior School)
