When I bought this on eBay, the seller described it as “1915 Hong Kong Scout Albumen Photograph (HIGHLY RARE)”.
I’m not sure that’s all 100% true, so in this video I’m on the hunt for the clues that will show us when and where this photo was really taken. (If you don’t see the video below, please click here to watch it on Youtube.)

Now confirmed to be a photo…
Now confirmed to be a photo of the prize-giving at the Garrison School on 11 Sep 1925:
Hong Kong 1920 2 Bn Scots Guards
Where were the 2nd Bn SGs based when in HK following the Boxer Rebellion
1925 Annual Prize-Giving Ceremony
The Garrison School annual prize-giving ceremony was held at the Command Educational Training Centre (CETC) at Victoria Barracks on 11 September 1925. Source: Hong Kong Daily Press (HKDP) 12 September 1925
Searching further, the CETC was located at "D' Block, Victoria Barracks. Source: China Mail 3 September 1925.
The main photograph appears to have been taken on a slope. There are a few photos of "D" Block here and here
Without the HKDP reference to the CETC, one would logically assume the photograph was taken outside the Garrison School after the prize-giving ceremony. As I understand, the Garrison School(s) nearest to Victoria Barracks at the time was located at the lower end of Garden Road. At this juncture, its location is not known.
