The Hong Kong Christian Council (HKCEC) was formed in 1954 and consists of 22 denominations and church institutions. It aims to unify churches in Hong Kong and promote joint witness and missionary work.
With a big focus on social service, HKCEC addresses social issues and launches initiatives, both locally and worldwide. It runs fundraising activities like "Five Loaves and Two Fishes Church Action" to support poverty alleviation in mainland China and Asia.
Educational efforts include programs for out-of-school children, high school and university students, girls’ education, and rebuilding schools.
Additional projects include orphan support, disaster relief, rural development, clinic reconstruction, and outreach such as "Africa Care".
