Annie Archibald Thom worked as a secretary in the Cuban Consulate. She was also in the Nursing Detachment of the HKVDC.

After the fall of Hong Kong, she was interned at Stanley Camp. Her name/signature appears as "a. a. Thom" under "VAD Nurses" on the "Day Joyce Sheet" held by the Imperial War Museum.
