European House #3, Cheung Chau [????-????]

In the early 20th century the island of Cheung Chau offered desirable attractions to the European population.  Properties there offered all the advantages of The Peak of Hong Kong for a fraction of the cost - isolation, cool breezes, and extensive views.  Cheung Chau actually had its own Peak.

In 1909, building plots and labour were cheap on Cheung Chau, and there was a flurry of building. European House #3 may have been built at this time.  Built of granite and rectangular in shape, it preferred to face the sunny south rather than enjoy the views of Kwun Yam Wan.  It was close to the beach there for bathing.

The houses of Pegasus Villa are there now.
