Grace Anselma McKenna was better known as Sister Mary Paul. She served the Maryknoll Sisters and became the Regional Superior. In September 1921,  she led the first group of Maryknoll Sisters to South China. In Hong Kong she established two schools, one for Chinese girls on Hong Kong Island and the other at Kowloon for girls of all nationalities.

During the fall of Hong Kong, she was stationed at Maryknoll Convent School. On 8 February 1942, eighteen Sisters of the school including Sister Mary Paul were interned at Stanley Camp.  In September 1942, Sister Mary Paul and other Maryknoll missionaries were released from confinement (see here). She later left Hong Kong for China and worked in the inland missions.

Sister Mary Paul left Hong Kong in 1946 to take up various administrative posts on governing councils. She would return to Hong Kong in 1965 and finally leave the city in the late 1970s.
