He is mentioned as having first arrived in Hong Kong in 1923 in his brother's application to become a naturalised British Citizen:
That in 1924 through your Memorialist's brother Michael Patrowich Piankoff, he obtained a vise or pass from the Colonial Secretary’s office in Hong Kong and proceeded to Hong Kong. Your Memorialist's said brother is now working at Lane Crawford Ltd and has been in this Colony since 1923.
The application was signed in 1931, and shows his brother was working at Lane Crawford Ltd at the time. That is confirmed by two entries in the Jurors Lists, for 1929 and 1930 (Misha is a short form of Michael, like 'Mike'):
c | Piankoff | Misha | Confectioner | Lane, Crawford, Ld. | 120 | Whitfield Road |
He was also remembered by Edmund Owen, bakery manager for Lane Crawford between 1928 to 1933, as 'a very skilled chocolatier'.
On 12 Jun 1934 he became a naturalised British Citizen (see the copy of the certificate in the UK National Archives, their ref: HO 334/251/1370). Details:
- Full Name: Michael Peter Piankoff
- Address: No.11 Seen Keen Terrace, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
- Trade or Occupation: Baker.
- Place and date of birth: Irkutsk, Siberia, Russia. 21st November, 1899.

He next appears in the Jurors Lists in 1935. He was still working at Lane Crawford's bakery but had changed his name from Michael Patrowich Piankoff to an anglicised version, Michael Peter Pincott:
c | Pincott | Michael Peter | Baker & Confectioner | Lane, Crawford, Ld. | 91 | Leighton Hill Road |
His next and final entry in the Jurors Lists is for 1938, when he'd switched to working in Lane Crawford's cafe:
c | Pincott | Michael Peter | Assistant Café Manager | Lane, Crawford, Ld. | 57 | Wong Nei Chong Road |
He was not interned in Hong Kong during WW2.
According to familysearch.org he married Edith Rowson, though that doesn't agree with with his wife Alice shown above. There was a Rowson family in Hong Kong, but it's not clear if they were connected.
Findagrave.com shows a grave for a Michael Peter Pincott in Victoria Australia with date of death 11 Jul 1963 that may be his.
