It looks as though he was released from Stanley Camp and then later re-interned, as he is also shown on the list of internees in Ma Tau Wai camp. (Eric Macnider's diary for 26 Jun 1942 mentions "12 people left camp ( ..., Mrs. T Bolt)" but there aren't any other mentions of a Mrs Bolt in camp, so it probably refers to Thomas.)
