OBITUARY

Mrs. W. Darby Passes Away

SALVATION ARMY WORKER

The death occurred at the Matilda Hospital yesterday, of Mrs. (Brigadier) Darby, wife of Brigadier William Darby, General Secretary of the Salvation Army in South China.

The deceased lady, who was 51 years of age, arrived in Hong Kong with her husband in June, from Shanghai, where they had spent six years, prior to which they were in other North China centres for ten years. Mrs. Darby was a native of Birmingham, England.

The Late Mrs. Darby was taken ill a fortnight ago whilst on holiday at Cheung Chau island, and her condition became gradually worse, necessitating her admission to hospital last Thursday. Besides her husband, she leaves three children, one of whom is in Shanghai and the other two in Hong Kong. [...]

She is buried in the Hong Kong Cemetery:
