The terrace was seen in photos since the 1930s.
Construction of Stubb road was completed around 1920 and the land there was auctioned. The brothers of the "Guangdong Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company" bought that section of Stubb rd. One of them Jian Kongzhao (簡孔昭) had another name "Shiu Fai". Therefore the buildings he built there were named after him called "Shiu Fai Terrace 肇輝臺"
