Anna d'Almeida née Hait was the chuild of White Russian parents. At some point before 1925 they moved to Shanghai and in that year Anna sailed to Seattle, apparently intending to live permanently in the USA. She applied for American citizenship in 1926 after what seems to have been a statutory one year's residence, but in 1928 she was back in Shanghai, where she married Carlos Eugenio d'Almeida at the Portuguese Consulate.
She was the Maid of Honour at the Edgar wedding (https://gwulo.com/atom/14720) and is standing third from the left in the front row.
She and Carlos had divorced by 1948.
