Carlos Eugene D'ALMEIDA [1893-????]

Before the war Mr. d'Almeida was the manager of the United Sales Association, whose activities included importing furs. During the Japanese occupation, like a number of others, he became a broker, matching buyers and sellers in a disrupted economy.

He is pictured standing on the far right of the front row in the Edgar wedding photo (https://gwulo.com/atom/14720).

He married Anna Hait in Shanghai in 1928. The couple were divorced at some point before 1948.

He was arrested by the Japanese at some point and held in the Gendarmerie cells at the Supreme Court - probably during the period May-October 1943. After his release he lived in the Stock Exchange Building.
