Colonel Esao Tokunaga was in charge of the Sham Shui Po Prisoners-of-War Camp and other camps. After liberation he was accused together with four other Japanese officers to have committed war crimes. He was accused at the Military Court for the Trial of War Criminals  in 1946 and 1947. 

On the 14.02.1947, he was sentenced to death by hanging, commuted to imprisonment of life.

Also the commandent of Argyle Street camp and lived in a (now) demolished art deco villa at #157 Argyle Street. It was a local landmark due to its wrought iron front gate that bore the design of a peacock. Keroseneian has a picture on Flickr here. The old villa was demolished circa mid 00's and replace by luxury housing block called Forfar (built 2010). The site now has the address 2 Forfar Road.
