Hi my name is John Butler, I served in the Queens Own Highlanders in Hong Kong from 1980 to 1981.  While there I took an interest in horse riding and had lessons at the military ridding school at Lo Wu camp.  While I was there I became very close to Alison Ayres, her sister Barbera and their parents.

I still have amazing memories of my time there and would like to try to find any members of the family.

Alison was a riding instructor at Lo Wu,  Barbera was still at school but spent a lot of time at the stables with her friends; Their mother, who I think was called 'Molly' (or to a young soldier, Mrs Ayres) helped to run the riding club.

They lived in Kings Park but moved to the Old Police Bungalow around 1983. I continued traveling and eventually lost touch with them. I would be happy to hear from anyone that knows them, even if their location is not known, I am sure contact with anyone who was friends of theirs or perhaps remembers me will help me eventually find them.

Thank you for reading my message, and I look forward to communicating with anyone who remembers The Ayres family or Lo Wu riding club as it was back in the 80's

Regards,

John Butler.
