Hi David,

I think the marker needs to move slightly to the west, about where the word 'Chung' is on the map.  However, there were two versions of this place.  The one you (and everybody) refers to is the original one which we have photos of.  Another one was suggested in about 1999 or 2000 as a sanitised revived version on where the bus terminus is today outside Shun Tak Centre.  It was one of the measures to boost the so called 'local economy' in the aftermath of the Asian financial crisis.  That one did not last very long and was closed down.

Found a Chinese wiki page about this place https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%B8%8A%E7%92%B0%E5%A4%A7%E7%AC%AA%E5%9C%B0

It claims to have only started in this spot in after WWII (it was elsewhere in Sheung Wan before that).  And the revived version started in 2003, but no cooked food stall was allowed, and closed down within one year.

According to my father, Possession Point was the earliest location (where Hollywood Road Park is located today) However, I am too young to have seen it there.

I do remember clearly that in my childhood (the 60s), during the day time, it was a parking lot outside the Hong Kong - Macau Ferry Pier. After dark, it became the Poormen's Nightclub.

I wonder what happened if someone forgot to move his/her car before the crowd gathered.

To answer leungpk's question "what happened if someone forgot to move his/her car before the crowd gathered".

Just call the police. They are quite happy to help.
