When I last walked by some years ago, they appeared to be being used as offices.
My wife and I walked past No. 2 University Drive last Sunday. It appeared empty and had the air of a building about to be demolished. A quick check of the HKU Estates Office web site confirms this impression.

this place was demolished circa 2021. I believe a new building is already on the site but not yet complete.
