His full name was Thomas Archibald Spedding born 7th Dec. 1892. He was at the Repulse Bay Hotel during the seige - later interned at Stanley and transferred to Shanghai in July 1942. I assume he had been visiting HK from Shanghai and was caught up by the outbreak of war.
