I believe this is Wong Tsun-on, Michael rather than Shin-on.  He was born in N.Borneo and was a Solicitor's Clerk at D'Almeda Remedios Co.  He joined the BAAG in Jun1943 and served until the end of War, performing roles in Free China.  He worked alone in the Outposts and as a Runner in the FA2, and could have been in contact with PL (Y.C. Liang) in Macao.  He is said to have his own sub-group.  He was apparently quite high profile.  Not long after Wong passing away in HK several years ago, a friend of his, not connected to the BAAG at the time as far as I know, said she was aware of his involvement in underground activities at the time.  I found out his presence too late and did not have a chance to interview him personally in his last days. He was awarded the BEM.

Wong Shin On, Michael.

Nationality Chinese-British subject, born British North Borneo 25.12.1912, Clerk, BAAG June 43 - August 45.

“his man was eager to serve in any capacity in Hongkong and after a period of training he was sent in to organise an intelligence group.  At first he met with great difficulties and little success, but with great tenacity of purpose he refused to give in and eventually due to his own hard work he built up one of our best groups operating in enemy territory.  For over two years he only left enemy territory once and that was to be briefed for his new role of camp watching.  During the last twelve months great attention was paid to all movements of P/W working parties and this group did excellent and most valuable work in this field.  For over two years, Wong displayed most commendable bravery and devotion to duty.”   (signed) l T Ride, Colonel.
