I think that location is about right. It's hidden away behind all the stalls on Ap Liu St, but I'm pretty sure it's on the south side of the road, on the block between the two MTR entrances. It was boarded up when I saw it, but has some original details that looked interesting.

Shop House on ApLiu St
In the 1940s and 50s, small shops sat on wooden planks over the nullah which ran along the centre line of Nam Cheung Street. On Apliu St west of the playground, street vendors were selling antiques, recycled items, watches, 33rpm LP's, etc. The place got crowded in the evening. There was also a bird shop.
East of the playground, where I once lived, car traffic was almost nil as the street was cut off at both ends; those were my memorable childhood/playful years. I can see today this block is busy looking at Internet photos.
