Kathleen Hyde-Lay’s nephew, Ian Hyde-Lay, has written to say that she is currently living in Toronto – married name Stround. Her brother’s name was Derek and both he and Kathleen ended up on the west coast of Canada. Kathleen was evacuated in 1940. Derek emigrated in 1947 having served in the Royal Navy. Derek died in November 1995, having taught at Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island from 1948-1993.
