A nice spot to go hiking from.  Good flat path.

The reservoir can be boated on.  Further along Tai Tam REservoir road you have the continuation of the HK Trail and a nice (stroller friendly) walk to Stanley.

As Gweipo mentions, there are good hikes in just about every direction from this point. I like the walks heading South. Ther are several combinations of walk on to Tsin Shui Wan Au, then on to Repulse Bay or Stanley. None are suitable for strollers.

From Wong nai Chung Gap to Tsin Shui Wan Au we've tried three options:

  1. Flat. The path just below the dam leads up to the catchwater. From there you follow the catchwater around to Tsin Shui Wan Au. Good views out to sea over Deepwater Bay and Repuls Bay. Shady in several parts.
  2. For more of a challenge, starts the same way, but takes you up over the top of Violet Hill.
  3. A longer route takes you around the eastern side of Violet Hill. Follow Tai Tam Reservoir Rd down to the reservoir, then follow the catchwater along to Tsin Shui Wan Au.

When you get to Tsin Shui Wan Au, if you've already had enough you can walk down the valley to Repulse Bay.

If you want more hiking, choose:

  1. Strenuous. Up over the Twins and Stanley Mound. That's a lot of steps, so make sure everyone in your group is still feeling strong.
  2. Easy. Follow the catchwater around til you meet the stairs coming down from the strenuous route.

In either case, you'll end up down at Stanley Gap Road. Turn left to the bus stop, and catch a bus into Stanley for a swim and a beer. (You can walk into Stanley, but the road is narrow and several sections don't have any pavement/sidewalk for pedestrians, so it's not much fun.)

Gweipo, are you thinking of the walk down to Tai Tam Road, then catch a bus or taxi in to Stanley? I think your stroller wheels might be worn down to the metal if you walked all the way ?!
