This image, taken in 2024 of 9 Stanley Beach Road, shows the original gateposts for Ging Chun (Scenic Spring) Villa 景春別墅, which, in former times, lead into the courtyard of the grand old, two-story, grey-granite, art-deco residence that occupied the site until it was demolished during the mid-1960’s. The gatepost on the right-hand side still bears clear evidence of the characters 景春別墅 running mid-way down its length.
These gateposts, together with a substantial, curved flight of steps situated between numbers 9 & 11 Stanley Beach Road, and an imposing retaining wall rising steeply from the northern end of Stanley Main Beach, are all surviving remnants of the original structure, which, together with its tiered gardens, occupied all of what is now collectively known as 9A & 9B and 11A & 11B Stanley Beach Road.
