This image already appears in Gwulo  somewhere as a Swire or Butterfield & Swire property. There was discussion about it. If I recall correctly it wasn't on The Peak, possibly Pokfulam?

The image was featured in a Swire  Group publication .

Unfortunately I have been unable to find the posting on Gwulo.

Given the year 1895, the Peak was accessible only via (old) Peak Road (and Peak Tram). I do not think a horse would have been able to pull a carriage uphill. It therefore seems more likely that the site was in a lower-lying area.

Thanks David - it has a very similar roof to Claymore. Are there any architecture experts out there who can tell me if this style had a name and/or purpose (other than decorative). Or perhaps it was just the in vogue style of the time?

The building structures appear to be very similar with the frontage being remodelled around the windows and entrance.  Chimneys are similar as is the raised double tiled roof which is presumably a building ventilation feature, the window apertures are not too dissimilar, easily remodelled.            Which image came first is unknown as far as I am aware.
