The Comet was introduced in late 1944 for World War II and was fully phased out of British frontline service by 1958. A few Comet tanks were brought to Hong Kong during and after the Korean War (1950-53).
The Australian Centurion tanks might looked like Comet, that actually fought in Vietnam. The Centurion and the Comet represent two successive generations of British armor, with the Comet serving as a late-WWII cruiser stopgap and the Centurion evolving into a legendary post-war Main Battle Tank heavily used by the Royal Australian Armoured Corps in Vietnam.
