Hong Kong Air International Ltd was formed in January 1970 and introduced a helicopter passenger service between Harcourt Road Heliport and Kai Tak Airport and vice versa on 15 December 1970.
The opening of the cross-harbour tunnel in 1972 led to a decline in passenger traffic which later resulted in the suspension of the helicopter service to the Airport on 31 December 1973. Despite the setback, the Company ventured into other fields of commercial helicopter work activities. The Company ceased trading in 1976.
