Memorial Plage by Shek Lo 石廬 (Paradise 樂園)

The land surrounding the Shek Lo was a private garden called "Paradise 樂園" still owned by the Pang family.

Pang's mother was buried under one of the trees in Paradise 樂園. The stone gate at the entrance of Paradise, which still exists, but the couplet on the gate has begun to fade.

The couplet reads: 

"Paradise, deeply cultivated with water and surrounded by mountains, joyfully sharing a well; Garden, secluded, sleeping among flowers and rustling bamboo, surpassing even the opening of a fiefdom."

The Pang family granted a plot of land to Peter's family (Mr. Peter Tsui 徐仁壽) for the construction of a house, which is now known as 石廬 (Stone Lodge - Shek Lo).

It consists of a main residence and an auxiliary building to its right used for banquets, blending Chinese and Western architectural styles.

Peter's family lived there until the late 1980s, after which the property was abandoned.

The surname 彭 is engraved at the top.  I wonder if it has something to do with the other Pangs over at Fan Ling Wai.
