MAN SHING 07 97

The M.V. MAN SHING built in 1970 was the first of eleven triple deck ferries built by the Hong Kong Yaumati Ferry Co. to handle the increasing traffic to the outer islands and growing tourist market. The main and second decks were for ordinary class passengers. The upper deck consisted of an air-conditioned enclosed deluxe section and a large open deck at the stern. Subsequent triple deck ferries had a larger deluxe section and a smaller open deck at the stern. In 1999 the MAN SHING was laid up in the Kowloon City Typhoon Shelter and sold for scrap in 2001.
