This aerial photograph of Central, taken from over the harbour, appears on the dust cover of Roberts, Lew, Over Hong Kong, South China Morning Post Ltd, Hong Kong 1982. (A book comprising 97 colour plates.)
The inner leaf reads:
Photographer Lew Roberts spent two years and more than 100 flying hours capturing Hong Kong’s many faces – from misty green islands and the quiet bays of the Saikung peninsula to the formal splendour of Government House, the ragged environs of squatter villages and the sculptured dignity of the highrise buildings which bite into the hillsides.
Each photograph is accompanied by an extended caption written by Frena Bloomfield, a long-term resident of Asia who is an author, journalist, and broadcaster. The captions go beyond merely describing the photographs, and provide a wealth of both topical and geographical information.

Over Hong Kong
I believe the Over Hong Kong series continued for quite some time (until 2018?) under Magnus and Kasyan Bartlett. I think the 1982 edition shown above was the first one.
"Over Hong Kong" series
I believe, “philk”, that you are correct in suggesting that the 1982 edition (“Volume One”) was the first in the series – it is certainly the earliest that I have ever come across. The only other two editions I have seen are “Volume Three” from 1990 and “Volume Four” from 1996 – but from what you have just written, I now know that they went on for much longer than that!
2018
I think the last edition was 2018 and this was largely due to the exceptionally long, clear weather spell we had during the summer of 2017 which made it ideal for really high quality images. Great books.
