MR. LO CHUNG-WAN
The important position of compradore to the Netherlands Trading Society is held by Mr. Lo Chung-wan, aged forty-five years, despite the fact that he is, in a commercial sense, a comparatively young man. He received his education at Queen’s College for five years, when he was promoted to be assistant master for eight months.
He joined the Deutsch Asiatische Bank (German Bank) as assistant compradore for over four years.
He went to Tongshan to be a chief clerk to the Imperial Railway of North China for one year.
He has served on the committee of Tung Wah Hospital and Po Leung Koo. He is at present on the committee of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce.
He also holds a directorship of the Sun Company, Ltd.; M. Y. San Company, Ltd.; and the Peoples’ Saving Corporation in 1906.
He decided, however, to offer his services to the Netherlands Trading Society and secured the compradoreship, which he now holds.
He is a native of Heung Shan, Kwangtung, married, and has six sons and seven daughters, all at Canton Christian College. The eldest is sixteen years; the youngest, a few months.
