There's an arched bridge just to the left of where I assume the reservoir is (centre image). Does anyone know if there are any traces of it left? I think that part of the hillside is overgrown now rather than developed.
There is a bridge alright, the Tai Tam Gap stone bridge. But I am uncertain if that would fit this. I am still trying to make sense of the photo. The bridge was old though, pre-WWII.
T - that one is too far away from the reservoir for it to be the one in the image. I think the one I am referring to is almost right next to where the fresh water reservoir is located, so a pipeline makes sense.
If that's the case, the service reservoir could easily be accessed on foot from Tai Tam Road. If the thing is still in situ, it could be seen if one is near.
"Map: 1963.2 Aerial Sur" at https://www.hkmaps.hk/viewer.html has a clear view of the Sai Wan Fresh Water Service Reservoir, and the pipeline running away from it at 7 o'clock.

That looked more like a pipeline to me. But that part was not in focus, sort of difficult to determine.
