I took this photo at the exhibition given by the Canossian Convent in November 2013 if my memory serves me right. I believe this photo is in the public domain as I have found an almost identical photo on Wikimedia, perhaps enhanced, but with a similar car in front of it that possibly dates it to around 1923 before it was closed or perhaps a little earlier. I haven't however found the building described as "a convent and school". The Sisters bought a house in Wanchai, (which is the building pictured here) - perhaps in 1869. I'd be grateful if someone could enlighten me about the exact role of the building at the time of the photo. Was it a convent? Was it a school? Did it change its role over the years? I'm sure it has all been well documented.
