This commonplace 1966 image of a tram that was new in 1951, appears in: Waller, Peter, Lost Hong Kong. A History in Pictures, Blacksmith Books, Hong Kong 2019; and was in turn sourced from: Douglas Beath Online Transport Archive.
Does anyone in our vast Gwulo Community happen to recognize what tram route it is on, and where it has pulled up? If it helps, I think that I can make out the Chinese characters Oi Kwan (Love Crowd) Seung Dim on the shop sign adjacent to the 7-Up advertisement – a terminus, perhaps?
Thanks to “moddsey’s” input – see below – this query is now totally sorted. The placement of the 7-Up advertisement in the comparable image provided was something of a clincher!

Whitty Street Tram Terminus
The tram was stationary and positioned on a looped tram track at Whitty Street Tram Terminus awaiting to depart and join Des Voeux Road West eastbound. I think there were two main routes at the time, either from Whitty Street to North Point or to Happy Valley. Tram enthusiasts on Gwulo may be able to confirm and provide better information.

The building with the 7-Up sign can also be seen in this photo here from 1945.
