Japanese seaplane salvaged

These images appeared on the internet while using a non-specific search term, “Hong Kong WW11 photos”.

I have not seen these before or am aware of such an event. A search of MMIS English language newspapers does not seem to mention it. The  date 12 May 1950 mentioned in the textbox  appears to be specific.

Japanese Aichi floatplanes as this appears to be, were based at Kai Tak during the War.

The image with the barge has a visual anomaly with the lifting ropes (highlighted in yellow) missing at the float.

Could this be a “real” image or “AI generated mischief”?

Alamy is a reputable photo agency.
