This image of Hong Kong resident, Welshman Jack Edwards, visiting comrades who lie buried in the Sai Wan War Cemetery, appears on the dust jacket of Edwards, Jack, Banzai You Bastards!, Corporate Communications Ltd., Wanchai, Hong Kong 1990. – an unrestrained, first-hand account of cruel and brutal treatment experienced by a British WW2 PoW in the Far East.
A signed copy, gifted to me by my late sister Christine O’Brien, née Alderton, is further inscribed by the author: None of us should forget – 159.
“159” was the Camp Number assigned to Sgt. J.O. Edwards, whose honest, personal, detailed account, referred to above, contains, in small part, a comprehensive list of all names with corresponding camp numbers from 1 through to 1147 incl.
