Yun Pan (雲板\雲版) at Tap Mun Tin Hau Temple

Hi There,

Spotted this when visiting Tap Mun back in June 2023.  The dedication of this one is even older than the Chek Chu one.  This one was dated 1788 (乾隆53年\53th year of Qianlong).

A whole list of sponsors are listed.  The blacksmith involved was also mentioned.  Uncertain if this one was made from iron or bronze though.  It was likely made by casting.

If you use 雲板 as search keyword, you should be able to find images of them in many shapes and sizes.

These could be found in temples, Yemens, ancestral halls and may be used before assemblies, similar to a Gong.
