Photo taken from the back seat of a car

My father took this photo from the back seat of a car in 1956.  

There is a couple on the left-hand side, looking at the view, and their scooter is parked behind them.  

Any ideas where this was taken?  My family lived on Clearwater Bay Road in Kowloon at the time so maybe the road was somewhere there.
