The ferry should be in diesel version, so this photo was likely shot in 1953 or after. Appears it is on its way to the Star Ferry pier in Tsimshatsui.

year built : 1928
(it served from 1928 to 1968, recovered after war and converted to diesel boat in 1953) [1]
current status : scrapped ?
I remember reading in gwulo before that the POWs were brought to Kai Tak for labour by ferry.
Golden Star is said to be one of the two ferries used. One gwulo post I can find now is this : https://gwulo.com/kai-tak-airport-history
In 1943, the Golden Star was bombed and sunk by the Americans in the Canton River, and the Electric Star (1933) was bombed alongside the Hong Kong ferry pier. After the war, the ferries were dredged up and returned to service. [2] In 1948 and 1949 respectively. [3]
We have a clearer picture of 'Electric Star 1954' in gwulo posted by klaus before. The Forman one is here.
